Welcome To The Antique Cabinet. For your consideration is a QUEZAL Art Glass Lamp Shade in the exceptionally rare green King Tut décor, circa 1902. Following his arrival to the US, he worked for Louis Comfort Tiffany as a chemist at the newly formed Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company in Corona, Queens. After almost 10 years, Bach left Tiffany to establish his own company (which actually infuriated Louis Tiffany). While in business, Quezals Art Nouveau styled glass was very comparable in quality and beauty to all similar well known glass makers of the period with examples being found in most if not all prominent museums. This is a beautiful and very seldom seen shade. The few QUEZAL King Tut shades that are found are typically yellow/gold. This shade is fully decorated in the rare green King Tut design with wonderful colors and glow. It has a lightly ribbed body with a radiant marigold interior.
It is properly signed QUEZAL on the inside of fitter rim. 6 tall by 4 wide with a 2¼ fitter rim. The shade is in excellent condition, free of any chips, cracks or repairs and very minimal wear. An Outstanding Example of QUEZAL Art Glass. Most of the items we offer are either vintage collectibles or antiques and though we do try our best to point out any mentionable issues, as with all items of this nature, there may be slight imperfections or manufacturing characteristics of an item such as color nuances, bubbles, ash specks, tool or straw marks, etc. Please take time to view and inspect all photos.
